Curacao, July 15, 2022 – LionsDive Beach Resort Curaçao is located on the famous Mambo Beach Boulevard and always strives for the highest possible standards in a sustainable business. Since opening in 1989, LionsDive has been a nature-oriented resort that realizes that tourism can only survive in a world that deals sustainably with the natural, economic and social environment. Until now, a lot of attention has been paid to, for example, water saving, energy saving and recycling of waste, but now this also includes the use of solar energy.
After conducting extensive research into the use of solar energy, LionsDive has decided to invest in solar panels. LionsDive, together with local partner, Dynaf Group, has installed 588 solar panels over the roofs of the resort. The installation of the solar panels took approximately 2 months. The entire system produces an average of 1,100 kWh per day and will therefore reduce energy costs by at least 40%. LionsDive estimates that the investment will be recouped in 4 years.
