World Cup Mountainbike
The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup 2006 cross country season opened on Curaçao on Saturday
the 1st of April 2006 and Lions Dive & Beach Resort was very proud to host this unique event!
General Manager Will Vogels and former cyclist and cycling events organizer Leo van Vliet had
been able to convince the UCI of the perfect location and the racetrack of approximately 5.5 km
long has been partially composed by the first Olympic Champion MTB, Bart Brentjes himself.
Most spectacular thing of the track was definitely the start and finish on the beach!
Mountain bike professionals from all over the world, including the Olympic Champions and World
Champions, checked in at Lions Dive for this event. 19 out of the 20th best mountainbikers in
the world were present!

With Olympic Champion Gunn-Rita Dahle and former Olympic Champion and initiator Bart Brentjes
as winners, we could not dream of a better event!
