Oliver Sacks dedicates pool Lions Dive Hotel

January 23th, the famous neurologist and bestselling writer Oliver Sacks dedicated the brand-new 50 meter pool at Lions Dive & Beach Resort. He did this before a select local group and the whole Doug Stern Swimming Group from the U.S. The pool has been named after this famous American swimming coach, who died in 2007.

Twenty two years ago Doug Stern went, together with his swimming team, for the first time to Curaçao. Afterwards he came back every year to train here.
On Curaçao the swimmers have found the most perfect circumstances. Last week they had the great fortune to combine their training in the sea with the training in the brand-new pool. According to Oliver Sacks, a member of the swimming club for years, with this pool a complete training resort has been created.

For General Manager, Will Vogels, a dream came true when he was able to expand the resort with a 50 meter pool.“ We are the first hotel in the Caribbean with such a big pool. In the last few days a lot of other hotel guests already made use of the pool”.
Lions Dive & Beach Resort hopes not only to welcome divers, mountain bikers and bikers but also swimmers.
